A Little Help from My Friends, Part 2

Today's focus is on my friend Frances; she's an expert time manager, quiltmaker, fiber artist, teacher and accountant, among other things.  Here are some of the pieces that hang in our booth that Frances has quilted...

The quilt below is one of my favorites.  She took one of Bill's rust dyes and made it into a masterpiece!

I'm amazed she can sew on the rust dyed fabric that well. It tends to cut the threads when I've tried it.

Deb, Bill soaks his rust dyes in a hot salty soak for about a day, then a hot baking soda soak, then he washes them twice. Is that what you do? You should ask Frances how it went for quilting.

Also, rust should be left on fabric for less than 24 hours, otherwise it gets too "thick" on the fabric.
