Misty Mountain QuiltFest

This weekend we were vendors at the Misty Mountain QuiltFest in the Georgia mountains. The trees were in full Fall color and it was a lovely weekend for the show. Here are some highlights...

Our 2nd Place quilt (Anita Heady maker and Marybeth Tawfik long arm machine quilter)

Our friend, Mary Ann Mauney, won the Judge's Choice ribbon! This piece had it's own wall in honor of the award.

And what do we have here? Fabric beads on this art quilt by Carleen Brock.

Lovely!

Fiber Frenzy Day

Friday was Fiber Frenzy day for June and I was the program giver. We had a wonderful time making fabric beads!

Shirley wins the prize for the best smile. Shirley's daughter and granddaughter also made beads and Pat was there too. Too bad I didn't get a good photo of Pat, though.

Here's the final boquet with all of our beads. Beautiful!

If you're a school art teacher in the Athens, GA area, I'll be happy to show you how to make these fun beads. It takes about 1 minute of instruction--no kidding! Just write to me.

Back to Regular Life

Our son just went back to the war zone yesterday for more months, and the house feels very empty without him. It was a great visit, and we're looking forward to his homecoming in early 2011.

Yesterday was workshop day at the Cherokee Rose Quilt Guild in Lithia Springs, GA. They're a wonderful group of avid quilters and we had a wonderful time.

The ladies especially loved making fabric beads.

Great day, and good food too!
