A Little Help from My Friends, Part 3

Today's focus is on Mary Ann Mauney; fiber artist and a master of needle felting, embroidery and surface design.  You can check out her Gallery here.

Mary Ann creates wonderful pieces called "Mini Me's" with wool roving and embroidery.  Here are two pieces she made for me...

My favorite of her pieces is her flower placemat/wall art/tabletopper.  These are three individual placemats.  Aren't they beautiful?  People are drawn to them when they hang in our vendor booth.

Mary Ann also made this table runner for me where the flowers are connected with beads...

I love my creative friends!

A Little Help from My Friends, Part 2

Today's focus is on my friend Frances; she's an expert time manager, quiltmaker, fiber artist, teacher and accountant, among other things.  Here are some of the pieces that hang in our booth that Frances has quilted...

Beautiful!

The quilt below is one of my favorites.  She took one of Bill's rust dyes and made it into a masterpiece!

A Little Help from My Friends, Part 1

I have been blessed with wonderful, talented friends; one is my example of how to manage time expertly besides being my accountant, QuickBooks teacher, Excel unscrambler and fiber artist.  Another is a whiz at needle felting & embroidery as well as surface design.  Then there's my friend who is an expert at color theory, fabric selection, design and fabric fusing.   Over the next week I'll be showing you some of the lovely pieces they have made that hang in our booth or just make my life easier.

Today the focus is on Marybeth Tawfik, a fine long arm machine quilter and excellent pattern designer, Marybeth recently designed made two business necessities for me:

The top piece is my new attache case made from indigo fabric with a lovely China red lining.  Below it is my new business card holder.  I love them!   Thank you, Marybeth.

My, it's been a while since I last posted.  Busy, busy, busy...and it's all good.

Last weekend we were vendors at the lovely Port St. Lucie Crazy Quilters' Show in Florida.  For the first time I was able to give a "Vendor's Choice" ribbon to the quilt of my choice in the show.  Here's the one I chose...

These are five cohesive pieces that were made by a fiber arts group.   Of course, it's even better in person.

The Stock Multiplies

With a lot of help from my friend Marybeth, we added a lot of fabric to the shelves this week.  Mostly we've been freshening up the stash and re-pricing, although there are a few new pieces on the shelves now.  Here's the progress so far:

January 5

   January 8

Pretty good for 3 days work.   Thanks Marybeth!

Countdown to Port St. Lucie Show

We're in the countdown to the Port St. Lucie, FL Quilt Show, so we've been preparing fabric...

Bill has pressed these and they're ready to be cut and priced.

Here's our starting point; this is about 600 yards of fabric that was dyed previously.  Let's see how much we can add to this inventory by showtime.

Here's the heart of the operation, Bill--our super pressing machine.
